LogicHaul Logistics Announces SandCan Acquisition

LogicHaul Logistics, a Wisconsin-based transportation and distribution company, announced the acquisition today of Sandcan Logistics of San Antonio, Texas and its patented containerized storage and transportation system known as Sandcan®. Capable of storing up to 24 short ton of sand, Sandcan®is an innovative and versatile last mile solution for frac sand and other bulk commodities. Once delivered to its destination site, the Sandcan®can be unloaded in less than four minutes – compared with up to 30 minutes for traditional pneumatic trailers – allowing the drivers and trucks to continue onto the next load. Ultimately, this means less trucks and drivers are needed for the same job, a significant
value with the impending driver shortage.

One of Sandcan’s more impressive features is LogicHaul’s redesigned patent-pending Direct to Blender®Feed System, which allows for up to three different proppant grades totaling 110 tons of proppant directly above the blender. The Direct to Blender®Feed System is versatile enough to hold multiple proppants above the blender simultaneously all without the need for mechanical conveyance systems. Furthermore, due to the direct connection between the SandCan®and the Direct to Blender®Feed System, the SandCan®System
greatly reduces the amount of dust exposure on site, while delivering 24 tons of proppant every 4 minutes, indefinitely.

“We saw an opportunity to solve several significant challenges in well-site safety and efficiency,” says Kevin Umbehr, COO of LogicHaul Logistics. “With our Direct to Blender Technology, we eliminated belts, blowers, conveyors, mitigated the dust issue, sped up trucking turnaround time, and reduced the number of personnel required at the wellsite. Being a little late to the game has allowed us to address opportunities the early movers missed.”

By selecting the RT290, SandCan®is offering the only Rough Terrain Reach Stacker used in the business. It moves 24 tons per lift, providing load security using ISO standard container locks on the lifts. It is perfectly designed for wellsite applications, providing operators a 360 degree line of vision, and is supplemented by multiple safety camera(s), alarms, and safety sensor systems. The RT 290 performs 24/7, in all terrain, in all weather, with or without rig matting, and it is readily transportable. It is also a multipurpose piece of equipment, which can eliminate the need for other rental equipment at the wellsite. The SandCan®solution increases operational efficiency, while lowering overall Completion costs. Early indictors are that the market agrees, with lead times already extending into autumn.

LogicHaul will lease systems to all firms needing to improve their efficiency of last mile logistics and well-head delivery. The acquisition was completed on October 2, 2017, but no terms of the agreement were disclosed. More information on the SandCan®System can be found at sandcan.com.
